WORK EXPERIENCE

Position : Service Analyst/Voyage Accountant
Company : Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group B.V.
Period : 1 May 2008 – 31 May 2014
Functions :
• Control voyages in the Company's ERP system (IMOS) to ensure the accuracy of estimates and the timeliness and accuracy of postings.
• Coordinate action across functional lines to take proactive or corrective steps to ensure the quality of the estimates and thus the financial results.
• Updating estimate for the assigned Service.
• Assist in monthly closing by planning monthly Tanker Trading closing schedule and running voyage accounting accruals and posting bunker costs to voyages.
• Analyze service results and create statistical and financial reports for business directors and business management.
• Assist in preparation for monthly closings by reviewing voyage actual results against commercial (Friday Report) estimates during the month and upcoming voyages;
• Assist in monthly closing by planning monthly Tanker Trading closing schedule, freezing Friday Reports and interfacing with the voyage accounting system in JD Edwards (JDE), producing report on operating days, running program to allocate costs to ships (direct ship cost), running voyage accounting accruals, making entries to netdown these accruals and populate data for retroactive profit and loss reports;
• Set up and maintain the quality and integrity of data in JDE for new and existing ships and voyages (business units);
• Review the voyage profit & loss for each voyage in IMOS to verify the correctness and analyze if necessary before the month closing.

Position : Junior Tanker Trading Accountant

Functions :

• To schedule and prepare in a punctual manner the proper (charter party) statements originating from the respective time charter party agreements for third party deep sea (STJS) ships.
• To compile and review all proper deductions from time charter hire payments, as quickly and completely as possible.
• To liaise effectively with ship operations to obtain their review and timely formal approval of the charter party statements.
• To arrange timely payment by SNTG Treasury for all approved time charter hire payments.
• To prepare, seek approval and arrange timely payment for all STJS-related ship sublets.
• To schedule, prepare, seek approval and arrange timely payment for the monthly supercargo payments.
• To assist in any area of accounting deemed necessary.
• To analyze time charter hire cost for all voyages that employ third party time chartered ships and to correctly expense time charter hire cost over all these voyages.
• To review frequently the clearing and port accounts for owner's items to be deducted from the time charter hire.
• To analyze frequently individual voyage bunker (fuel) costs and correctly expense fuel cost for all voyages (“bunker rolling”).
• To timely process bunker cost adjustments per approved off hire statements received from ship operations, in co ordination with ship owning accounting.
• Assist with the quarterly and yearly statutory audit requirements as requested by the Assistant Controller – Tanker Trading.
•To assist the Assistant Controller - Tanker Trading with other duties and responsibilities, as required.
